Ranch Hand & Horsemanship Training

Our summer program runs from June 15th to September 15th. In this program you will achieve 3 certificates:

Horse Training & Horsemanship 

Trail Guiding 

Learn to Coach 

Required is:

3 hours per week online study

3 hours per week Hands on / In Class study 

3 Hours per week Instruction & Evaluation 

10 hours per week independent practice 

1 lease horse that you are able to practice your skills with and ride 3-4 / week.  You will be required to assist or fully Guide & teach novice riders for independent practice. 

For those with a strong background in the Equine Industry you may apply for a working position for the time around training. Work applications must be sent in advance. 

Maximum students: 6 

We understand that not everyone can commit to a 3 month program. For those on a limited schedule you may book a course privately or with a small group as it fits in your schedule. Please note you may only book 1 course per week.

You are required to do 1 week at a time, but may break up the 3 weeks over a course of 6 months. 

Colt Starting & Horse Training (4 weeks total) 

Trail Guiding (4 weeks total) 

Learn to Coach (4 weeks total) 

Private courses are offered May, June, September & October. 

Cost: 

Accommodation: $200/ week (Mon - Fri) 

Meal Plan: $200 / week (Mon- Fri) 

Training: $650 / week 

Weekly Requirements: 

1 hour per week online study

1 hour per week Hands on / In Class study 

3 Hours per week Instruction & Evaluation 

10 hours per week hands on practice 

Weeks run from Monday- Thursday and include: 

1- 1.5 hour in class/ in field lesson

1-1.5 hour lesson 

1 hour online study 

3 hours independent practice.
