Frequently Asked Questions

Your Online Ranch Guide

Please take a look, we hope we can answer some of your questions here.

Can my toddler / child ride on the same horse as me?

Each rider must be on their own horse. The age for a trail ride is 6+. Younger kids can enjoy a Little Dude Ride or a Lesson!

How do young kids handle the trails?

Our horses are extremely gentle and kids generally are very comfortable on the trails. For our younger / nervous riders we will "pony" them. This is where your guide will lead the childs horse from their horse to help navigate through the trails.

How can we pay?

Cash is great (and still accepted during COVID). Please try to bring exact change if possible. We can also accept Etransfer (in advance) or Visa  at the ranch.

How much deposit is required & is it refundable?

All  services (trail rides, camps, cabins, lessons, etc. require a 50% deposit is required). Deposits are non refundable (rain or shine).

What if it's raining?

We ride rain or shine! Often the rain blows by us or lasts only a very short time. The trails are safe when wet.  Please dress accordingly!

Do we need to wear masks while riding?

You are only required to wear a mask while signing in. Once you are outside & on horseback you are not required to wear a mask.

What is required for sign in, how early do we arrive?

We ask you arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment (or 30 minutes for larger groups) to get signed in. Everyone will need a waiver to ride, those under 18 must have their legal parent or guardian sign their waiver (this can be printed and brought to the ranch. We also recommend that you give yourself an additional 30 minutes leeway following your appointment as the trail ride time varies depending on the group size & ability and size.

What do we wear?

Long pants are highly recommended (jeans, leggings or track pants are suitable).

A boot with a small heel (blundstones, timberlands, rubber boots) often work well. There are boots available at the ranch if yours aren't suitable.

Helmets required for those under 18, helmets are complimentary at the ranch.

Can we wear a bike helmet?

Only certified ESTM riding helmets are suitable for horse riding. Bike, ski or other helmets are not permitted.
